We systematize our Quality Management and Sustainability implementing Operating Systems including working procedures and Continuous Improvement, which allow us to achieve the requirements of our customers and our environment, using local, regional, national and international legal norms.

  1. Sustainability and Environment: We are committed to environmental protection and strive to reduce and minimize impacts on the environment. We separate waste, we reduce water and energy consumption, we adapt our infrastructures to the environment, and we manage the discharge of hazardous waste through authorized managers. We promote sustainability through local suppliers, we prioritize the less aggressive products with the environment, including transport and packaging and jointly participate in local activities.

We participate in “Hoteles Amigos” a program of Unicef Spanish Committee, supporting the Prevention of child sexual exploitation and protection against violence in the tourism sector in Dominican Republic.

Purchases and development of the Local Community: We apply strict procedures regarding assessment and selection of contributors and external suppliers based on the application of the existing legislation on Environment, Human Resources Policy and Child Protection. We prioritize local suppliers and we support in solidarity the development of the local community.

Quality and Sustainability General Policy is available to Contributors, External Suppliers and Customers and will be known by all employees of Aequora Lanzarote Suites **** and it will be promoted through appropriate training activities.                         

 

ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY

Aequora Lanzarote Suites **** is committed to environmental protection and strives to reduce and minimize impacts on the environment, separate waste, reduce water and energy consumption, adapt infrastructures to the environment, and manage the discharge of hazardous waste through authorized managers. We promote sustainability through local suppliers, we prioritize the less aggressive products into the environment and we participate in solidarities local activities.

GOALS

  1. Carry out all applicable environmental laws and regulations attributable to our activity including all national and local regulations on the disposal of wastewater.
  2. Evaluate our environmental performance based on our objectives and goals.
  3. We will obtain and retain our Travelife for Hotels and Accommodations award.
  4. Involve and promote between: Employees, Contributors, External Suppliers and Customers, the objective and range of our environmental policy.
  5. Involve and promote between Employees our Manual of good environmental practices.
  6. Get maximum savings of efficient energy installations, such as solar energy and geothermal energy and get maximum savings of efficient water facilities.
  7. Separate waste according to the local authority guidelines.
  8. Reduce packaging products purchased as far as possible and use biodegradable or natural alternatives, responsible management of hazardous materials.
  9. Inform Customers on protected species according to Catalogue of Endangered Species of the Canary Islands.

VIEW: We try to minimize energy and water consumption without disturbing customers comfort levels and reduces as much as possible: solid waste, sewage and waste water.

HUMAN RESOURCES POLICY

Employees are in Aequora Lanzarote Suites**** the greatest asset; we express our social commitment and responsibility in labor relations with our employees, based on the personal and professional development, on the support, respect and fair assessment. As well as the strict compliance with legislation in all areas related to their work and Human Rights.

GOALS

  1. Collection System: We prioritize the recruitment of local staff and unemployed person; at least 80%, avoiding any kind of discrimination based on gender or other.
  2. Selection System: We select the candidates according to his profile, in accordance with the needs of each workplace and contracting with strictly social and labor criteria.
  3. Procurement System: We stick to the labor legislation, regulated by the Statute of Workers of the Province of Las Palmas and we control that agreements stipulated by law of Temporary Agency Work, services or subcontracted are carried out. Welcome System and integration of new staff: All the persons who join to the Hotel must have information relative to the Quality and Sustainability System, as well as information of the Hotel and its objectives, procedures, workplace and work materials requirement.   5. Administrative Employees Management System: Administrative Employee Management develops according to the legal standards concerning to his labor activity, by informing Employees and their legal representative of details of his contract and his legal obligations.
  6. Performance appraisal system and career development: All the Employees are evaluated, in accordance with the needs of their workplace, personally, in order that agreed with their line manager, the aspects to maintain and develop improvement.
  7. Internal Communicating System: Lasting communication, based on the confidence and commitments of all the employees, is essential for the daily development of our products and services. Therefore, an Internal Communicating System is established, definite and documented.
  8. Training System: The training of our employees is a priority, it depends on its capacity for the correct development of our products and services. CHILD PROTECTION POLICY

Lanzarote Aequora Suites**** avoid any kind of discrimination and all forms of exploitation, including child sexual exploitation.   2. Investigate the prevalence on child abuse, at the domestic level or through the concern Authorities according to Spanish legislation.
  3. Expel from de Hotel or prevent entry into people with a history or proven facts of Child Abuse; demanding the same commitment to External Suppliers or Contributors.
  4. Action taken against whistleblowers must be avoided, if it is administered in good faith, independently from the final result of the incidences reported.
  5. Take legal actions or Supplementary legislation, according to management decisions, from false complaints or report of child abuse carried out by Employees or Customers.

Employee’s commitments:

  1. Avoid actions that generate risk of harm children, inform to Management any incident in the hotel about Child Abuse and cooperate to create atmosphere of respect for the rights of the minor, or to the Authorities in case of abuse.
  2. Avoid physical or emotional risk situations in activities carried out in the Hotel, as well as contents exclusively designed for adults in the Activities Program of the Hotel, requesting permission to parents or tutors before taking children pictures.

Contributors and External Suppliers commitments:

  1. Acceptance and implementation of the defined and developed Policy in the Integrated Quality and Sustainability Manual, regarding Child Protection.

PURCHASES AND DEVELOPMENT OF THE LOCAL COMMUNITY POLICY

Aequora Lanzarote Suites**** apply strict procedures regarding assessment and selection of contributors and external suppliers based on the application of the existing legislation on Environment, Human Resources Policy and Child Protection. We prioritize local suppliers and we support in solidarity the development of the local community.

GOALS

  1. Carrying on a reciprocal relationship with Contributors and External Suppliers, ethical and lawful.
  2. Select Collaborators and External Suppliers which comply with legal regulation and attend to Quality and Sustainability criteria under Aequora Lanzarote Suites**** Policies; minimize residues and environmental risks production; support Local Community development, child protection included; developing Human Resources and labor risk policies in agreement to the legislation in force, avoid any kind of discrimination, labor abuse or other.
  3. Prioritize local suppliers as far as possible, being in contact with the local community, entities and institutions to support social and / or commercial actions development.
  4. Promote and implement the Child protection policy.
  5. Promote between Customers the Knowledge and respect of Nature Reserves and autochthonous species of Lanzarote, informing them about different possibilities of local consumption in cultural, gastronomic or handcrafted areas.
